Our outdoor company retreat spaces are what put us on the map as one of the most in-demand retreat destinations in Minnesota. The crystal-clear waters of Sugar Lake and the wide-open spaces on our 400-acre resort grounds create a unique space that plays a pivotal role in our experiential process. Together with the Leadership Lodge, these outdoor environments support reflection, connection, and hands-on learning that deepens leadership development. It’s the reason why industry-leading facilitators run their leadership development cohorts here, and why companies keep coming back to us year after year.
You’ll notice something remarkable as you make the (sometimes hours long) drive to our Northern Minnesota meeting venue. The drive takes you through dense Northwoods territory. There are no cookie-cutter neighborhoods, big shopping centers, bustling cities, or large population centers. We’re secluded, and that’s a large part of the experience. Taking people out of their everyday lives, removing the distractions, and cutting them off from the “real world” provide an experience you can’t get anywhere else.
Our Outdoor Retreat Spaces
Our outdoor retreat spaces help teams connect experientially and play with purpose. Often integrated into Leadership Lodge agendas, these spaces include full high and low ropes courses, a 13-foot climbing wall, and 18-hole golf course, and extensive trails and grounds for various other activities.
Siseebakwet (Sugar) Lake is a 1,500-acre lake with eight miles of shoreline and 26 feet of water clarity. It truly is the most unique thing about our resort space, with water so blue that someone once called it the “the Mediterranean of the Midwest.” Our lakefront space not only adds to the beauty and seclusion of our retreat space, it also adds a host of water-based activities not offered by many other venues. For many Leadership Lodge retreats, time on the lake becomes a powerful setting for perspective-shifting conversations and moments of clarity that are harder to reach in a traditional meeting room.
